Breaking News in Local Business from The Boston Globe
The New England chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors said its annual awards will include honors for EMC Corp.'s board of directors and Jack Connors, chairman emeritus and a founder of Boston ad agency Hill Holliday.
The
chapter named EMC's board as the "board of the year." Since 2003, the
EMC board has directed the acquisition and integration of more than 45
companies in transactions valued at more than $11 billion, the chapter
noted in a press release. Headquartered in Hopkinton, EMC is a major
player in data storage.
Connors, shown at right in a Globe file photo, has been selected to receive the chapter's lifetime achievement award. He is the chair of the board of Partners Healthcare Systems Inc., the largest hospital chain in Massachusetts, and he also serves on the boards of toy maker Hasbro Inc. and Covidien, a health products company, the chapter's press release noted.
